Don't inflate your car tires
Tips
! Don't inflate your car tires to the pressure listed on the side wall of the tire itself. The proper inflation pressure is listed on your car's door panel. Open your driver side door and you will find a sticker/plate on the part of the door jam that is covered when the door is closed. This will tell you the correct tire pressure for your car. It will always be lower than what you find on the tire and if you inflate to the tire's maximum you may wind up with a harsh bumpy ride and decreased traction.
! If your are inflating your tires while cold (not having driven for 10 or more minutes) then you should inflate to the listed pressure. If your are inflating warm tires the pressure will read higher, commonly 3-4 PSI higher than when cold. So, if you just finished driving add 3-4 PSI to your target pressure. For example, if your car lists a rear tire pressure of 32 PSI, inflate them to 35-36 PSI when warm.
